Justin Bieber rings in 18th birthday with Selena Gomez

It's good to be 18 when you're Justin Bieber.

First, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the teen heartthrob was surprised with a massive gift from Usher and his manager, Scooter Braun: a Fisker Karma, an electric luxury car worth over $100,000.

"I always yell at you, don't get anything flashy, we're not about that. Be humble, be humble," said Braun. "I kind of broke my own rule."

The same day, Selena Gomez, 19, took to Twitter to fete her boyfriend. "Happy birthday to my best friend in the whole world!!!!" she tweeted.

Then, Daily Mail reports that on Friday Gomez flew in from the Florida set of her new film, Spring Breakers, to attend Justin's birthday party in Los Angeles. Justin, dapper in a black and white dogtooth jacket, sported an Elvis inspired 'do. And in a series of pictures posted to Twitter, the happy birthday boy can be seen planting a kiss on Selena's cheek (she wore a festive red strapless dress).

"NO MATTER WHAT WE PARTY TONIGHT," the Biebz tweeted pre-festivities. Looks like it was quite a bash. Later, he signed off with: "#greatnight."

Justin Bieber’s Birthday: Turns 18 with Ellen DeGeneres and a $100K Car

Pop sensation Justin Bieber turned 18 today, and he celebrated his big day with a very special appearance on "The Ellen Degeneres Show."
Bieber is a frequent guest on the show and DeGeneres is a gushing supporter of his. While being interviewed for today's show, DeGeneres told him that his manager, Scooter Braun, had a special gift he wanted to give him on the show.
"You work really, really hard and I always yell at you, ‘Don't get anything flashy. We're not about that. Be humble.' And I kind of broke my own rule," Bruan said.
Braun talked about the importance of being environmentally friendly on and off the road, as well as Bieber's love of cars.
"We decided to get you a car that would make you stand out a little on the road, and I think you know where I'm going and you're freaking out a little bit right now. It's a Fisker Karma," Braun said as the shiny black car appeared on the set. Braun said the car was a gift from him and Bieber's mentor, Usher.
The all-new 2012 Fisker Karma is the first luxury all-electric car, valued at more than $100,000.
When a shocked Bieber saw the car, his eyes widened and he kept repeating, "That's for me? That's for me? That's crazy."
Few people have the elite car. Other owners include Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Gore and Colin Powell. It is also the car that Ashton Kutcher's character drives on "Two and a Half Men."
Braun talked about Bieber's good qualities, including his dedication to charity and acts of kindness "for the right reasons." Braun said that Bieber performed 86 shows on his North American tour and met with a Make-a-Wish child at every show. His only request when he did that? No cameras.
Bieber also announced on the show that his new single, "Boyfriend," will be released on March 26.
The teen heartthrob has packed a lot into his 18 years, becoming a worldwide music icon and creating a media and product empire.
He has won dozens of music awards, performed for President Obama several times and released four records. He is the first solo artist ever to score three number one albums before his 18th birthday.
And if that wasn't enough, Bieber's 2011 3-D concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never became the highest-grossing music concert film since 1984.  He's has also made acting appearances on CSI, guest-starred on Saturday Night Live, popped up in the opening montage of the Academy Awards last weekend, and proved his comedic skills on FunnyorDie.com.
Discovered five years ago through homemade YouTube videos, he's racked up 17.8 million Twitter followers and 40.8 million "likes" on Facebook.  In July 2010, his video for "Baby" became the most-viewed video in YouTube history, and as of February 2012, it had more than 700 million views.  His official YouTube channel has had 2.3 billion views.
He also has a fragrance, a line of Hallmark greeting cards, trading cards, books, dolls and a singing electric toothbrush.
Despite all that success, Bieber has so far managed to avoid any true personal scandals.  There have been no DUIs or drug busts, he has a great relationship with his parents and his family, his relationship with Selena Gomez appears to be solid, and the paternity lawsuit he was hit with last year is widely believed to be a fabrication on the part of the woman who filed it.
Speaking to V magazine earlier this year, Justin talked about how growing up might affect his music.  "People need to know I'm not a kid anymore," he said.  "But at the end of the day, I'm not completely grown-up.  I'm still learning…I'm never going to make myself so the kids and the parents don't respect me….I don't want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing."
He added, "I've got a lot of work to do…I don't want people to just think of me as a teen sensation….I want to transition, and become the greatest."
